Men's Match Away vs Glen Parva Steelers
Report by Mike
Won 3 - 0

Solid, dependable, reliable

Was it Home? Away? Who knows! But it was a mild day for February as the seven intrepid men made there way to Glen Parva for yet another match ..... nearly six, but Raj finally spotted Mike & Chris going the other way round the ring road & decided perhaps to try to follow them....

And so we began. Geoff took up the challenge of refereeing, with Keith &
Chris starting the setting. The first set was solid enough, a mild start to match the weather, but we clawed our way to the front and stayed there. Not a serve was dropped, and despite Glen Parva playing more solidly than the last time we met, PVC came through 25-18 winners.

The blocking was effective at the net, with Martin and Mike controlling the middle. Apart from Lee's wayward smash into the net once, the attacks were pretty good as well, with both Raj and Lee leaping high and hitting hard. Mike finally broke the serving duck, punting one into the net, and then followed Lee's example of 'too much time to think about the hit'....but again the men edged the set reasonably comfortably at 25-19.

Geoff was relieved of refereeing duties for the final set, with Keith picking up the role, and the fresh pair of Lawrence Legs helped us to come through the third set to win the match 3:0. Another fine victory, and an exciting 12 days from 20th March to 1st April to look forward to: Loughborough, Wyggy, Hermitage and Gartree to round off the Men's season, here's to a solid finish !
